Don’t be fooled by the warm outdoor temperatures: Fall is definitely upon us. And for many of our clients, fall is the preferred time of year to try something new with their style. Our stylists, estheticians and nail technicians are ready to help you switch up your look, whether you’re ready to make a big change or want something more subtle. Here are some tips and trends we’re seeing for Fall 2024:
Color Melts, Chocolate Browns and Banges
Looking to change up your hair color but in a more subtle way? Try a color melt! This technique blends two or more colors together, so the transition between shades is more seamless and natural-looking. It also gives a softer look as it grows out, making it a great lower-maintenance option for people who need more time between color appointments. This client came in with traditional blonde highlights and left with a gorgeous copper melt (plus some blonder money pieces in the front).
For the brunettes of the world, the word of the season is chocolate. As the sun sets on summer, embrace the chill of fall by going a shade darker. If all-over color isn’t your thing, keep some warmer-toned foils for added dimension. We love how this client’s hair is the perfect combination of chocolate brown with hints of caramel at the roots!
Not ready to change up your color but want a shift in your overall style? Try a soft bang or shorter face-framing pieces (or both). They’re a simple way to elevate your hair without making too drastic of a change.
Don’t worry, these aren’t the dramatic (or traumatic?) bangs of your childhood: They’re blended into the rest of your cut for a look that’s elegant and carefree. Our stylist Hannah added some bangs to her own look, and we love the results!
For Your Nails: Warm Neutrals
When it comes to nail color, this upcoming season is all about warmth. Brown shades are making a big comeback this year when it comes to clothing and fashion, and we’re seeing that transfer over into the nail world as well.
One of my favorite trends that incorporates these rich brown tones is the tortoiseshell pattern. I love combining the warm yellows and oranges with darker browns and black to create the perfect complement to any fall outfit.
Tortoiseshell can be done on every nail, or you can opt to add a pop of color with an orange accent nail — bonus if you also add a chrome overlay! This season, I’m excited to try a tortoiseshell French tip for a more subtle variation of this fun trend. It’s a nice way to keep a neutral nail but add in a little extra color and texture.
Another nail trend I’m excited to do this season is the chocolate glazed donut, which is achieved by doing a brown base — like our new fall color, Artwork In Progress — with a chrome powder on top. Wine and brick red nails — like our Fifteen Minutes of Frame color — are in style every year, it seems, and this fall is no exception, making it a classic choice. You can also try rich jewel tones like purples, blues, and greens, like our fall color Just Hanging Around. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, add a pop of gold chrome on top, or even glitter!
For Your Face: Dusty Rose
We all know and love the signature neutrals that the fall season brings for makeup every year — oranges and browns, especially — but this year, dusty rose is also stepping in! This color can be used as your lip, blush, and eyeshadow, which helps to keep the overall makeup look on the more natural side of things while still embracing the season’s trends. Looking for a darker, more nighttime look? There’s a shade of dusty rose for that, too.
Another Fall 2024 trend we’re seeing more and more of is brown eyeliner and mascara instead of the typical black. Using these earthy tones gives a lighter and warmer look to the eyes. Combine the brown liner and mascara with a dusty rose shadow, and you’re ready for the season!
