So, we’re finally turning the corner into summer. (At least that’s what it feels like this week…!) The green grass and budding flowers are in full force—so we’re going with it and planning our new hairstyles accordingly. Here are a few options that will help you spring forward to freshness:
For the Rainy, Humid Day: Top-Knot Pony Tail
April showers brings May flowers. You know what that means—HUMIDITY. Ish. If you’re like me, your hair becomes large and not-so in charge on those humid days. My solution? Throwing my hair up in a top-knot ponytail. To rock this look, I tip my head upside down to put my hair in a ponytail, backcomb the ponytail, and put it in a bun with another hair tie around it to hold it in place. My go-to product to fight the frizz is Oribe’s Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray. It’s like a rain coat for your hair. A MUST!!
For the Patio Cocktail Hour: Braided Crown
The best part of warmer weather? Cocktails on the patio! My go-to style for a casual afternoon date outside is a good old braid. The best part about braids is their versatility—you can wear this style in so many different ways every time you go out! Here are some of my favorite braiding pro-tips:
- Make sure you have texture in your hair before you start (I love Oribe Dry or Bumble and Bumble Pret a powder).
- You can part in the middle of your head, or off to one side.
- Braid a one-half inch section back from your front hair line. If you feel like getting crazy, add another braid behind the one you just created.
- Once done braiding, pull apart the braid to give it a larger look.
This impressive look is super easy to create!
For the Trendsetter: Bangs, Bangs and more Bangs
Big or small, change is good, and we’ve got just what you need—bangs! Whether you’re rocking short, baby bangs or wanting long, wispy bangs—this style will make you feel like you have a new fresh look.
