Allison’s Favorite Products for Skin and Hair Perfection
“Colder weather is coming—the perfect time to find the perfect exfoliant to keep radiant skin glowing all year long. One of my favorite products for that is Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant—it’s completely natural and organic, smells divine and is gentle enough (but properly effective) to use morning and night. This exfoliant comes in powder form, so my favorite way to use it is to mix it with a little bit of my favorite cleanser (my fave right now is the Eminence Mangosteen Cleanser) after removing my makeup. You can also just add a little bit of water to turn the powder into an exfoliating paste. One of the best parts about this product is that it ensures my makeup glides on effortlessly, which brings me to my next product reco—Jane Iredale’s Glow Time BB Cream.
Glow Time is one of my favorite foundations ever! It’s full coverage but doesn’t feel heavy at all. It covers all blemishes and minimizes the appearance of pores while keeping skin looking fresh and radiant. It’s a perfect everyday foundation for anyone who likes more coverage and a natural finish. My favorite way to apply it is with the Jane blending brush—it’s big enough to get the job done fast and fluffy enough to blend it out seamlessly.
And when it comes to my hair, I’m totally #oribeobsessed. The Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray is a high-density spray that plumps hair for extra thickness. I have long blonde hair that I like to wear in loose curls—this adds the perfect amount of thickness and little hold for the undone look that I love. It truly makes it look like I have WAY more hair than I actually do, which is my favorite part about it. It’s great for anyone who wants the appearance of thicker, fuller hair. After styling, I spray it all throughout the mid to ends of my hair and shake it out.”
Sierra’s Must-Have Products for Volume and Shine
“For keeping my hair healthy and clean, I love Aveda’s Cherry Almond Bark Shampoo and Conditioner. I typically wash my hair one to two times a week, so when I do, clarifying shampoos and moisturizing conditioners are a MUST. This shampoo and conditioner takes care of my hair and keeps it clean!
For styling, Oribe’s Flash Form Spray is my #1 styling product because you can use it in so many different ways, on so many different types of hair! I have thick, coarse hair so I try to stay away from products that add any additional texture—and Flash Form helps separate and define my curls while increasing volume and shine. One of my favorite ways to use Flash Form is to use it as a prep spray before backcombing my hair—here’s my two-step process. First, I grab pieces of my hair and spray it intermittently all over my head. Then I just move my hair around with my fingers to style exactly how I want. An added bonus: A little bit goes a long way—so it lasts AND works. Win-win!”
