Are you trying to grow your hair longer? Does it seem like it’s always breaking off? Do the strands feel dry and brittle? Look wavy, fuzzy, or dull?
Using a mask (or masque) on your locks ensures that the moisture your hair needs to stay healthy remains on your head. Think about masks as insurance policies for your hair! If you only shampoo two or three times a week, throw away your conditioner and try a mask in its place. Your hair will look healthier and has a better chance of growing longer faster.
My favorite masques for blondes, or for people with fine hair who need something light that still gets the job done, include:
Or, if you’re looking for something a little heavier, try:
- Oribe Gold Lust Masque
- Bumble and bumble Butter Mask
- Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Mask
- Aveda Botanical Repair Masque
When using a hair mask, focus the product mainly on the ends and mid-shaft. Leave the product on for 5-20 minutes in the shower, then rinse out fully. When you get out of the shower, make sure to apply a leave-in conditioner and heat protector before you style your hair.
My favorite leave-in conditioners are:
- Oribe Run-Through Detangling Primer
- Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream
- Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil (also has UV protection!)
- Aveda Nutriplenish Leave-In Conditioner (also has UV protection!)
My heat protector recommendations vary depending on the level of heat you use on your hair and include:
- Oribe Invisible Defense Spray
- Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible OIl Primer
- Aveda Heat Relief
- Aveda Sun Care (also has UV protection!)
