Looking beautiful is all very well and good—obviously, helping our clients look their best is our mission and passion at Cole’s—but doing something kind for someone else can make you feel more beautiful too. You know how great you feel when you do something thoughtful for a friend or family member, or when you feel your words have really made a difference in someone’s day? We strive to duplicate those warm fuzzies every day, and so do a few of our favorite beauty brands.
Every time you buy one of your go-to products from Cole’s, whether it’s Aveda shampoo, Eminence Organics cleanser, or your must-have Image Skincare, there’s a good chance you’re helping to make a difference. It seems like a small gesture, doesn’t it? Buying a conditioner or a candle doesn’t really feel like you’re changing the world, but in fact, these companies work to make our planet a better place via their guests and their products.
Here are a few of our favorite beauty brands that give back:
Aveda
This might be an obvious choice; if you grew up in Minnesota, you’re probably familiar with Aveda and its mission to care for the world. The company manufactures products onsite in Blaine and even purchases wind energy to help offset the energy used at the factory. Aveda products are packaged in recycled plastic bottles and the company has a recycling program in their stores for things like brushes and pumps that you might not be able to put out on the curb. Plus, Aveda donates 100 percent of the $12 Light the Way candle, released every April, to help protect clean water across the world. All that, and cruelty-free products, too!
Eminence Organics
Eminence’s products are made of certified organic ingredients which are grown on the company farm in Hungary. The company uses organic and Biodynamic farming to harvest the ingredients which in turn become your favorite products, so you can feel good about slathering on your favorite night cream—it’s not harming the earth! Eminence also partners with Trees for the Future and plants a tree for every retail product purchased. So far, over 7 million trees have been planted to help absorb carbon, lower air temperature and produce oxygen! Amazing, right? Doesn’t that make you want to buy some skincare?
Image Skincare
Professional skincare line Image donates $1 from every limited-edition lip tint to the Care for Skin Foundation, which helps people who’ve been affected by skincare concerns like burns, tumors or scars get reconstructive surgery if they can’t afford it. Image also pays all the administrative costs for the foundation, so 100 percent of its donations go right to the patients who need care right away.
