Everything You Need to Know About Hair Extensions

Changing up your hair game to a fuller, longer, more voluminous style is fun, and hair extensions provide one of the best—and most non-committal—ways to achieve a major hair makeover.

I love extensions because they make hairstyle options practically endless, and give people more freedom to rock unexpected cuts and colors. So today, I’m breaking down the mystery behind extensions. Keep reading to learn who hair extensions are best for, how they work, what different options there are, and more!

Who are extensions suitable for?

Almost anyone and everyone! The mom with hair that isn’t quite as thick as it used to be. The person trying to grow out a bob and wants their sides fuller and longer. Anyone wanting a pop of color but doesn’t want to endure the coloring process. The person wanting to wash less and their style to last longer. Anyone wanting a full transformation of length and thickness. Anyone who simply wants to make a change!

What do extensions do?

It depends on your hair and your goals, but in general hair extensions can:

  • Add length: If you experience hair loss or have difficulty growing out your natural hair, hair extensions help you achieve long hair again, and do not hinder hair growth in the meantime. If you got a bad haircut and want to cover it up, hair extensions will do just that.
  • Add color: If you want to change up your look and add in highlights/lowlights or ombre, but don’t want to fully commit to the look, hair extensions will allow you to be experimental with your hair without the full-time commitment.
  • Add volume: If you struggle with hair loss or thinning hair, hair extensions will help you achieve the volume you once had—whether for a special occasion or everyday use.

Do hair extensions damage your hair?

No, the extensions that we use at Cole’s Salon don’t damage hair with proper care and removal. Please check with your designer for maintenance advice, and you should be all good!

What kind of extensions do you use at Cole’s?

We offer easihair pro extensions in a few different applications—tape-in, hand-tied, and full hairpieces. I love easihair because of the quality and training they provide to easihair professionals here at Cole’s. Their classic tape-in extensions are actually the only brand of hair additions that are weighted, measured, and approved by the National Council for Hair Loss. How cool is that?!

What do they look like?

Here are a few before and after photos for ya!

What is the process?

First we start with a thorough consultation and exam of your existing hair and scalp, then designers trained as easihair professionals determine the suitable solution for your hair addition needs. After that, we make your hair dreams come true!

Why do I love them?

Because they’re beautiful, transforming, customizable, reusable, and they can boost your confidence. Give us a call to schedule a consultation—the hair of your dreams is possible!
