Are you tying the knot this spring or summer? Your wedding day is a big deal, and you’ll be seeing those photos for the rest of your life. We’re here to help you look and feel your most beautiful on the happiest day of your life.
Get inspired. We’re sure you already have a Pinterest board full of updos, makeup looks and manicure ideas. If you don’t, get to Pinning! You’ll be able to show your hair and makeup artist just what kind of vibe you’re looking for, whether it’s romantic, natural or super-glam, and you can also point out what you don’t want. This makes your pre-wedding run-through sessions so much easier for everyone.
Choose your hair color. Talk to your favorite stylist about your wedding look. Is your dress pure white or an ivory tone? Will you be wearing bright lipstick or a sheer gloss? Maybe you need to warm up your color, or add a few highlights around your face. Decide on a color that flatters your skin tone and makes you feel gorgeous a few months before you get married. Don’t try anything drastic too close to your wedding date!
Scrub away dry skin. You’ll be showing a lot of skin in your dress, so make sure it’s looking soft and radiant. Add regular exfoliation to your beauty routine. We like Aveda’s new Beautifying Radiance Polish for its spa-like fragrance and hydrating exfoliation.
Get glowing. Visit us for regular facials to maintain the health of your skin. If you’re going to try a peel or microdermabrasion, be sure you book several months before the wedding just in case your skin reacts poorly to treatment. You should also find gentle, effective skincare that works for you—like Eminence Organics.
Pick a polish and make a manicure appointment. We think it’s best to have a biweekly manicure in the months before your wedding so your nails and cuticles are groomed and ready for their close-up. After all, you have to take photos of the rings, don’t you? Some brides like a pale pink shade, while others go for a classic French manicure. Or maybe red nails are your trademark—try a few different tones in the weeks before your wedding to decide which one looks the most like you.
Book a massage. Or two. Or three. Don’t forget to relax while you’re in the midst of wedding planning. Weddings are stressful, and you need to take some time to care for yourself and get centered to keep your head in the right place.
Get waxed. Any hair removal should be done about a week before you wed.
Do your lashes up. Are you visiting us for lash extensions? Have a set applied a few days before the wedding, or get them filled right before you tie the knot so they’re at their most lush. Lash extensions are also a great option for your honeymoon because you can skip the mascara!
No matter how you prep, remember to take care of yourself so you look and feel your best when the big day rolls around!
