Remember earlier this year when we announced that a handful of Cole’s Salon designers were competing in the Wella TrendVision contest, and that two of them made it to the semi-finals (looking at you, Naomi and Liz!)? What an amazing opportunity to learn from industry leader Sonya Dove and to see my team members reach for creative heights they never thought were possible.
What’s even better is that we were able to attend the TrendVision Awards show in Las Vegas last month to see the final showdown. The weekend was full of forward-thinking trend reveals, hot runway hair looks, and swoon-worthy talent.
From students entering for their first time to industry pros with years of experience—the 2018 North American TrendVision Awards showcased the power of our craft. I was blown away by the creativity, education and inspiration. From geometric shapes to vibrant colors—the finalists touched all areas of thinking outside the box. I was so inspired to come back to our salon and start playing!
