It’s fall! Did you notice the change in the air? We totally did. Even though September has barely started—the crisp, cool mornings are upon us. School is back in session, the State Fair is over, and soon, the trees will be dripping in rich autumnal colors. Though we LOVE summer and all of its fun activities, there’s something about fall (besides the cozy sweaters, boots, and apple orchard trips) that enchants us. Maybe it’s the promise of a new start—kind of like back-to-school season for grown-ups, if you will.

Rich reds, espresso brunettes, and golden blondes.
Take a cue from your favorite celeb and transition your summer color for fall by warming it up! Go from cool to warm blonde—a buttery gold is just gorgeous when the season changes. Another new favorite color trend for brunettes is “spiced espresso,” a dimensional, slightly lighter version of the old standby. We like it with a little pop of caramel balayage near your face to brighten things up. And what’s fall without the lush red shades of changing leaves? A blunt, short bob haircut is THE haircut for fall and beyond. Since summer’s over, you won’t need to pull your hair up into a pony on hot sweaty days. Designers at New York Fashion Week were obsessed with short cuts with a ‘90s vibe, so if you’ve been considering a cut, now is the ideal time to do it. The wavy, textured bob is the new long layers. Trust us.

Swap out your summer makeup routine for a few fall trends, like smudged, stained berry lips, applied with a brush and blotted for a “diffused” effect. The idea is to make your lips look like you’ve been making out for hours: a little messy, imperfect, and “flushed,” if you will. Graphic liner was also a huge hit on the runways, so don’t be afraid to overextend your go-to cat-eye or add some extra drama with your go-to liner pencil.
