Sharpening Our Skills with BbU Razoring Class

Posted by: Addie Nelson

In the hair and beauty industry, there’s always something to learn—whether it’s a new style or a timeless technique that takes years to master. That’s why we love Bumble and bumble’s Bb University—the “Harvard of Hair Education” that helps stylists from all over the world renew passion, restore focus, improve skills, and help approach hairdressing with confidence and absolute suitability for each and every client.

Last month, Desi from Cole’s Salon Apple Valley and I were fortunate to represent Cole’s at the Bb. University razoring class in New York City. Going in, I was excited and nervous and not sure what to expect. I also admittedly wasn’t a huge fan of the razor cut. But now, I feel more confident than even with a razor and am eager to use the new techniques on clients of all hair types and lengths.

After two intense days of learning the art of the razor cut—here are my three main takeaways:

  • Razors aren’t just for short hair—they can also do wonders on long hair. Razor cuts can create perfectly-sculpted layers around a face or take weight off of full, thick head of hair. Just take a look at the before and after shot above!
  • You can never go wrong with a bob, and the razor is the perfect tool to create perfect, clean angles.
  • Having Bb.U Educators on-hand to teach about the best Bb products to compliment each razor cut was so valuable. I now feel well-equipped to both cut and style using the perfect products for every hair type.

I’m always amazed that after years of doing hair, I can still learn completely new things and continue to feel inspired. It’s humbling, but also enormously satisfying to feel your passion reignite and fall in love with what you do all over again.
