Prepping Your Style for Warmer Weather

We all look forward to fun in the sun until we’re in the thick and stick of heat and humidity. Beachy vacays and patio happy hours are grand, but smeared mascara, frizzy hair and oily skin? Not so much.

The good news—we have plenty of hot-weather makeup and beauty tricks to help you avoid all the warm-weather beauty dilemmas so your face, skin and hair remain flawless.

Hair

Keep your hair in tip-top condition this spring and summer with the following products:

— Oribe’s Bright Blonde Essential Priming Serum and Sun Lightening Mist. The *brand new* Bright Blonde Collection keeps hair looking naturally illuminated for longer—even when spending your days outside in the summer fun. The serum is the essential first step when caring for blonde hair. This hydrating violet formula repairs and strengthens processed hair while eliminating brassiness. The mist extends your vacation and gradually lightens your blonde hues with the heat of the sun (or your dryer). The peroxide-free spray is formulated with a natural blend of lemon and chamomile to illuminate highlights while imparting weightless moisture and UV protection.

— Bumble and bumble Surf Styling Leave-in. This UV-protective gel-creme conditions, detangles, and fights frizz—for the softest waves under the sun. I love it because it’s a multi-tasking styler that moisturizes while adding a light hold and flexibility, so you can style, and restyle (and so on), all day. Hair is left soft and beachy chic, without the grit.

— Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer. This top-selling leave-in treatment is blended with six featherlight oils, to help soften, silken, tame, defrizz, detangle, and protect against breakage. Plus, it contains UV protection to help shield hair from the drying effects of the sun.

Skin

Remember when we suggested you change your skincare routine to adjust to colder weather? Well, it’s that time of year again. Try these services and products to prep our skin for the warmer days ahead.

— IMAGE Skincare Prevention+ Line. We’ve all heard about the harmful effects the sun can have on our skin, and we know we should apply sunscreen every day. I love IMAGE Skincare’s Prevention+ line to use all year round, but especially during the summer when UVA rays are the strongest. I recommend the Daily Hydrating Moisturizer SPF 30 for dry/sensitive skin, Daily Matte Moisturizer SPF 32 for oily skin, Daily Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 for those looking for even skin tone and healthy glow, or the Daily Ultimate Protection Moisturizer SPF 50 for those who need extra protection.

— Start exfoliating now (if you weren’t already). Spring is the perfect time to return to exfoliating and brighten the dull skin that has accumulated during winter. I love Eminence Organic’s Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant for a gentle exfoliation that leaves my skin feeling oh-so smooth.

— Book a facial. Love your skin, and it will love you back! A facial at Cole’s Salon is the most comprehensive (and luxurious!) way to treat and restore your facial skin.

Hands and Feet

If you’re like me, your hands do all the talking! So make sure they look amazing.

— Pamper yourself with one of a mani/pedi. Besides having a beautiful set of nails for your next trip to the beach, taking care of your nails is good for your health and gives you an excuse to sit back and relax!

— Aveda foot relief. Slather on this cream at night and in the morning your feet (especially those unruly heels!) will be velvety smooth for a day in flip flops.

— Pick up a new nail color. From springtime pastels to stunning summer shades, we have a variety of nail colors for you to choose from. This is an easy update you can do at home!

What a great time to look your best and feel your best while soaking up the sun!
