Lash Lift Lowdown
A lash lift is a treatment for natural lashes that can add curl and definition for 8 to 12 weeks. Just 45 minutes at the salon, and you can say goodbye to your lash curler for a few months! The treatment is great for anyone with straight and/or inconsistent lashes, and you can add a lash tint to the lift to help your lashes stand out even more.
The Process
I recently tried the service for the first time with Jennifer Addleman, an esthetician at our Burnsville salon (you can see her work here). She provided the lash lift and tint combo, and I can’t believe my eyes—literally! Both services combined took a total of 60 minutes from start to finish, and the result was darker, fuller, curvier lashes. Here’s a before and after of her treatment:
The process involved putting pads on my eyelids and under my eyes while Jennifer applied a gentle solution to my lashes. After that, she used a tiny curling rod to create a natural curl and then used a conditioning treatment to finish the process. I was instructed to wait 24 hours after my lift before getting water or any other products (including mascara) on my lashes as to not interrupt the solution. After that time, I was free to use products as normal. At about 8 weeks out—which is the natural growth cycle of your lashes—I’m starting to notice a return to my normal pre-lift lashes.
Having used almost every eyelash-enhancing treatment and technique in the book, I think the lash lift is my new favorite. It instantly opened up my eye area and helps me look more awake when I don’t have makeup on. Win-win!
