Having a Blast, Winning Awards and Learning Lots at the Intercoiffure Fall Atelier

Posted by: Amanda Cade

The Intercoiffure Fall Atelier is one of my career highlights every year. Intercoiffure is one of the most influential organizations in the industry, and their annual fall workshop always features a roster of top salon owners, stylists, educators and manufacturers. It’s a chance to connect with industry friends and make lasting connections with new ones. Being among some of the best of the best in the industry is incredibly inspiring and motivating.

A handful of us from Cole’s Salon attended this year’s atelier earlier this month, and a few of us even entered submissions into the Intercoiffure-Keune Excellence in Hair Awards!

Liz Youngman (another designer from the Burnsville salon I admire so much) and I entered submissions into the Men’s Creative Cut & Color contest. This particular competition was a simple photo submission, hosted by Keune, a hair color and product line originating in the Netherlands. George Keune, CEO and son of the founder, is gracious enough to host this event to any salon, and designer in the Intercoiffure family. We were so thrilled to be among the top winners! Liz was awarded second place and I was awarded third place. Here are our winning looks—Liz’s look on the left, mine on the right:

It was so cool to finally have Cole’s on the board—twice! I hope this gives other Cole’s team members the inspiration to put themselves out there and just submit their work. It’s really not about winning, it’s about being proud of putting something out there for others to admire and be inspired by. We have AMAZING talent in our Cole’s family; my dream is to show the world who we are not only creatively, but our culture and character.

You don’t find it everywhere—we are special and I’m so proud to be a part of it and represent it at a platform like Intercoiffure.
