Beauty Resolutions for 2021 and Beyond

Can you believe it’s already a brand new year? We can’t, to be honest! 2020 was a rollercoaster of a year for a variety of reasons and it truly flew by. While 2021 will probably be much of the same, at least for a few months, we’re glad to have a fresh start (of sorts) and have been thinking of some special New Year’s resolutions to set us up for success over the next 365 days.

This year, our goals are simpler, more attuned to the current world outside the window. We’re not thinking about hitting the gym or saving for a fancy vacation; our 2021 resolutions are about self-care, self-love, and finding beauty in unlikely places, as well as cultivating it in our own lives and those of our loved ones. If you need inspiration when setting your intentions for 2021, look no further — and remember, we’d love to be part of your journey, whatever it entails.

Take time for self-care.

One of the most important lessons we learned in 2020 was that caring for yourself isn’t an option — it’s a priority. Self-care can be anything from carving out time to exercise to buying a milk frother to make your favorite coffee shop latte at home to getting a (safe, socially distanced) mani-pedi every other week. However you care for yourself, make sure it’s something you do regularly. You’ve got a lot on your plate, and you can’t care for everyone without caring for yourself first. Our favorite form of self-care is a massage, obviously, so if we speak the same language, come visit us for a few hours of escape.

Do something out of the ordinary with your beauty look.

Every day feels the same, doesn’t it? Why not bring a little spontaneity into your life and try something new, like that pastel hair color you’ve always dreamed of or a stylish short haircut. They call it “New year, new you” for a reason, right? Break out of your beauty box this year and you may just find a new signature look or a product you can’t live without. If you’re ready to make a change, we’re ready to transform you!

Moisturize.

We live in Minnesota, and it’s cold! Keep your skin happy and hydrated with regular moisturization from head to toe. We’re talking night creams, hand creams, thick lotions and foot cream. Winter is dry, dry, dry, and making it a priority to slather yourself in luxe lotions and creams can be both a treat and a remedy against the bitter cold of the wind.

Look for beauty in everything.

We’ve all had to make some major adjustments over the past year, and things can feel really heavy and sad from time to time. It’s hard to keep your spirits up when you can’t see your closest friends and family and have to do happy hour over Zoom instead of in person. Instead of wallowing, try your best to bring beauty and joy to each day. Redecorate a room; paint can work wonders! Send a friend a gift just because. Go for a socially-distanced walk with your best friend and bring hot chocolate to keep you cozy. Channel your inner child and go sledding, or revel in the beauty of a fresh snow.

Put your best face forward.

You’ve got all the time in the world to focus on skincare, so let us help you design a routine that enhances your natural beauty and addresses any concerns you may have. There’s nothing like that post-facial glow, and you can treat yourself at home with a DIY spa night; let our estheticians choose a few products that you’ll want to use morning and night. Think of it as a moment of luxury each day!

Be kind to yourself.

You can’t do it all, and that’s OK. 2020 threw a lot at all of us, from adjusting work schedules to playing teacher to never leaving the house, and it was exhausting. Give yourself grace when things feel out of control and overwhelming. You’re doing your best in a very difficult time, and that’s something to be proud of.

  1. I have seen Amy Jones for 17 years from a recommendation from her Step-Mother. I have been through all her illnesses with her. I was surprised today at the new charge of $73.00 just for a haircut. She also foils my hair but now at what price? I saw Carolyn when Amy was sick and on medical leave. I have loved Coles all these years but it looks like being on Social Security, I cannot afford to continue with Coles. I recommended my husband to Coles!! Why have the prices gone up so much!! I guess there is nothing else I can say or do.
    I love Amy!!!
