Summer Travel Essentials: Services and Products for Your Next Getaway

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, and summer fun is on the horizon. If you’re excited about heading off on a well-deserved vacation, you’re not alone — it’s been a long year-plus, and we can’t wait to hit the road and take a break in a place that isn’t our living rooms or backyards.

Whether your travel plans are a week at a cabin or a tropical trip, you’ll want to properly prep so you can enjoy every minute of your getaway. That means booking a few salon services and packing the products you’ll need to look and feel your best on your trip

What to Book

If you’re reuniting with family or friends you haven’t seen in over a year, put your best face forward and book a facial treatment or two before you head out. You can customize your treatment to your skin’s needs; if you want more exfoliation to slough off all the Covid blues, try a peel. You’ll be gorgeous and glowing—radiating happiness both inside and out!

If you don’t want to worry about styling your hair while you’re off on that weekend trip, book a blowout with your Cole’s stylist and let us do the work for you! Whether you want straight and sleek or full and bouncy, we can style your lovely locks into a travel-friendly look you can rock for a few days.

We always say that any great trip—from a weekend at the lake to a week in Paris—starts with a mani-pedi. Put your best foot forward, literally, in a summery shade like coral, baby blue, purple, or grass green, all super trendy hues for spring and summer 2021.

What to Pack

Sunscreen is important every day, but especially come summertime. Protect yourself and your fam from UV rays with a hefty application of sunscreen; experts advise applying about a shot glass worth of lotion head to toe every two hours for adequate protection.

Lip balm and hand cream are some of our most essential travel picks; there’s nothing worse than being stuck in a dry plane or on the road without your lip balm! Plus, all that hand washing we’re doing means dry hands and cuticles, so toss a travel size of your fave (ours is Aveda’s classic Hand Relief) in your travel bag. If you’re trying to pack light, try a tinted lip balm to moisturize and give your lips a wash of color.

Dry shampoo is a great choice to extend your hairstyle on your trip and keep you feeling fresh after a long day of travel. We’re big fans of Bumble and bumble’s and also love Oribe’s cult favorite Dry Texturizing Spray to add oomph and an addictive fragrance to hair.

Don’t forget your hand sanitizer and a few masks, especially when you’re heading to the airport. Pro tip: Pack more masks than you think you’ll need, because you never know when they’ll rip, break, or get stained.

Bon voyage!

With just a few fabulous and fun services and a smartly packed suitcase, you’ve got everything you need to hit the road (or the skies) in style. Bon voyage!
