At Cole’s Salon, we’re deeply committed to continuing education and lifelong learning. Our designers, estheticians, leadership and other staff attend regular trainings and workshops with industry experts, and national conferences where the best and brightest gather to discuss and celebrate the latest and greatest trends in our industry.
A few weeks ago, nearly 30 Cole’s Salon team members attended Luxury Brand Partners’ Front Row—a hair education festival of epic proportions. About 2,500 people from across the country gathered in Miami for everything from hands-on learning, leadership training, runway shows, owners forums, and more.
We had a great time and learned a ton—but one of my biggest takeaways was that we’re doing a lot of things right! Because we have such a focus on continuous learning and growth, we’ve already incorporated a ton of the latest trends into our service offerings. In the leadership session, they talked about Doug (our founder and president)—highlighting the importance of the culture he’s built for us at Cole’s, our commitment to continued learning, and about the long careers that so many of us have been able to build here.
We like to brag about Doug’s awesomeness, of course—but Front Row is among the largest and most prestigious events in our industry, and there was a ton of conversation about how he has raised the bar for the industry as a whole, and that our Cole’s culture should be considered a model that other salons should work towards. So proud to work for him!
Here are a few of my other favorite moments and takeaways:
- Everyone from our team was talking about how inspired they were, and how excited they were to get back home and start working on their vision for 2016
- Oribe and Smith & Cult shows, featuring the latest trends and colors
- Meeting other designers from other states—especially people I’ve known on social media for years
- Bonding with the rest of our Cole’s family—outside of work, being together at this exciting event helped bring us together and make connections
I’m so proud of our Cole’s culture, and grateful for the opportunity to attend amazing events like Front Row!
