While summer doesn’t officially end until mid-September, we’ve already sent the kids back to school, chowed down on corn dogs and cheese curds at the State Fair and started thinking about fall outfits … not to mention a fresh new fall hair color, cut or style! Hair Color
For blondes: Think golden hues that mirror the changing colors of nature. We’re moving away from icy shades towards something warmer, like Blake Lively’s classically gorgeous honey blonde. Warmer shades give your skin tone extra sparkle and look extra-cozy when paired with a pumpkin spice latte and your favorite scarf. Darker hair colors can add honey-colored highlights to warm up too! Blondes this season feels more natural and subdued than the brighter colors of summer, making them easy to transition from season to season.
For brunettes: Don’t resist the urge to go dark this fall. Give in! For fall 2019, we’re loving ashy brunettes and deep, dark black shades. Think Kim Kardashian and Meghan Markle’s timeless brunette color, which never goes out of style. If you want something warmer, try a dark golden brunette with some face-framing auburn or copper highlights like Beyoncé.
For redheads: Copper isn’t going anywhere, and we’re loving it! The bright take on red is so flattering to a variety of skin tones and always makes you the center of attention. Hair Cuts
The shag: Yes, the shag is back, and no, it’s not the ‘70s cut you’re thinking of! The new shag is more of a soft, undone bob that gives your natural hair texture a chance to shine. It’s great for those with a slight wave who want to air dry their hair and is cut blunt for movement and texture.
Lovely lobs: The lob is here to stay. If you’ve been wearing your hair long for a few seasons, perhaps it’s time to take things just a little bit shorter. A lob is the perfect balance between long and short, and flatters a variety of hair styles and textures.
Long and loose waves: If you’re going long, go LONG. The more mermaid, the better, we say!
Beauty
All about liner: The fall 2019 runways proved that eyeliner is having a moment, and the more graphic and bold, the better. The traditional cat-eye is still chic, but consider drawing bold lines at your crease or a few bold strokes under your lower lashline. Bonus points if you try a bright color!
Lip love: Lip gloss is back, and we couldn’t be happier. The runways loved a neutral glossy lip, but they also flipped for a classic red pout. Which one is right for you? We think you can (and should) rock both, and we’ve got lots of great options for you to try next time you visit.
